Web Conferencing for IBC Meetings

IBC Services now hosts web-based IBC meetings using WebEx. IBC Members can share images as well as documents in real time.

New NIH Safety Reporting Option Available

The FDA-NIH Safety Reporting Portal [www.safetyreporting.hhs.gov] unveiled May 24 will accept reports of adverse events in human gene transfer trials and is expected to expand to other clinical trial reporting. Reports from gene transfer researchers do require PI registration with the NIH GeMCRIS system to set up an account [http://oba.od.nih.gov/rdna/oba_gemcris_pi.html]. Reporting on-line does not replace reporting to IBC Services.

IBC Services Welcomes Amber Shaw

Amber Shaw, BS, joined the IBC team this month bringing experience in clinical research coordination. She will assist research sites starting up or continuing gene transfer research. We will miss Diane Bostrom, R.N., BSN, who is moving into a Regulatory Analyst position with WIRB.

Are you having trouble receiving or opening email attachments from IBC Services? Are you receiving Win.dat or *.tnef files? IBCS uses a newer version of Microsoft Office that may not be compatible with your system. To address this issue Microsoft offers an Office Compatibility Pack that can be easily installed in two steps.

New NIH Guidelines Issued
September 30, 2009
A new version of the NIH Guidelines is posted on the NIH website. It updates biosafety guidance for research with potentially pandemic influenza viruses. If you have made a shortcut to the Guidelines it should still work, but the link could change in the future because the URL still refers to 2002.
